Stereotypes In The Workplace

Body art, tattoos, are an expression of one’s personality. According to a Creative Cast Blog statistics show 15 to 25% of all Americans have tattoos, but workplaces still enforce policies of not being able to show tattoos of any kind. Many companies have dress code that make tattoos either be covered or they are just prohibited all together. An employee should not be penalized because of having a tattoo, saying someone can’t have a tattoo is discrimination, they show self expression, and some people get tattoos for their sentimental value. Civil rights are a class of rights that protect people's freedom. People are being discriminated against because of their tattoos. Saying someone can’t work at a certain facility because of them choosing to get a tattoo is a violation of someone's civil rights. Some say they don't like tattoos because they look “trashy”. The modern stereotypical reasons people don't like tattoos is because bikers, outlaws, and thugs got tattoos to show their pride. Someone might get a semi colon tattooed on them to show that they wanted to end themselves, but kept pushing on and didn't give up. Someone might get a quote tattooed on them that says “Believe in Yourself” because at the end of the day no matter who is in your life, you always have yourself. Tattoos are a form of art themselves because of how different and complex each tattoo can be. People get tattoos as a form of art to express their love for art. The common tattoo is normally just black ink, but you can add color if you wanted, and some artists can even make it look like it was watercolor. Tattoo artist can do many impressive difficult pieces. A tattoo artist can bring your dreams of tattoos come real, every tattoo can be unique in its own way depending on how you dream of
