There are many stereotypes used today when recruiting individuals for different jobs. The main stereotypes that fuel recruiter’s perceptions of them, are sex, race, along with disabilities. When applying for jobs, consistently, companies ask your race and sex. Moreover, I have read many job descriptions that state, you must be able to lift 50 lbs. Many of these jobs, do not require any lifting; however, to deter people with disabilities, companies write this in to eliminate people with disabilities from applying for jobs.
