Now there is plenty of embarrassing moments in the show for the characters. One that shows losing face is when Michael shows what he wants his coworkers to do with the card “exercise” with Kelly who is Indian and he goes through the stereotypical Indian(she was not in when it started and didn’t have a card so that is the purpose of using her race/eth). This comes extreme when Michael gives the workers cards with different races and they place it on their heads and the other workers have to use stereotypes to identify the workers. One that has already sort of been mention is when Michael goes up to Kelly and goes through the stereotypical Indian, such as the thick Indian accent and how they all work at convenience stores. Now the stereotype goes through how that the race presented only has that job and all have a thick accented voice. When Kelly neither works at a convenience store nor has a thick accent. Now what Michael could of done better in presenting this one stereotype is simply say what the stereotype is that is normally associated with Indians and debunk it with her as an example in a respectful tone. Two stereotypes are hit in one conversation at the same time between Pam and Dwight. Dwight’s card is Asian and Pam gives the stereotype that Asians are bad drivers, Dwight in response says “Awe man, am I a woman?”. This violates how a culture from a completely different area of the world with different driving laws and vehicles makes it seem that they don’t know what they are doing when it is all on perception when driving as well where you are used to driving and laws; also using an old stereotype about women that pulls in men are better than woman when driving is all about skills built up and in today’s age men and women are pretty much the same at
