First stereotypes in the media are problematic because the media creates a negative effect on different races. A prime example of that would be the video Last Week Tonight: School Segregation. At one point of that video a caucasian mother stated “... I don’t want to have to worry about my children getting stabbed or robbed…” when she found out that colored kids, were attending her kids school. That mother completely went of having the black kids there. She referred to the blacks as violent, and that she would not allow her kids to go to the same school as them. Another example would be in that same video a little girl was asked to choose which kid is the bad kid. In a picture line up she said the the black kid was the bad kid. She was not expected to that race, she assumes the blacks were bad. A good amount of these negative effects towards the blacks comes from the media. Which creates more drama in society, making it hard for all races to get along. While watching the video Last Week Tonight: School Segregation a black man was getting called racial slurs and rude comments from a caucasian man, writing offensive on terms on the side of the school “Go back to Africa n****” because he did not like the black man.
