At the start of Oceans Eleven, Danny the protagonist played by George Clooney gets paroled from prison and after less than a day, he breaks his parole by going to another state to find Rusty who is played by Brad Pitt. This conforms to stereotypes of criminals in that they as a matter of course will commit another crime and usually for purposes such as getting rich or stealing money for revenge. George Clooney and Brad Pitt are known as star personas. They often play roles of smart masculine guys who are full of charisma and who can get away almost with everything. In this case Danny is presented as a professional criminal who with the help of others is skillfully trained to complete very dangerous robbery operations. His physical characteristics and charisma also contributes in developing the character. Usually in films criminals represent the opposition to the law and are viewed as the bad guys versus the good guys. However this film subverts this convention by portraying the characters as intelligent masterminds who use their skills to their advantage. Every story has a range of personalities we differentiate from other stories. For instance, in robbery movies there is always a leading man who is in charge of the group. In this case Danny is presented as the front man of the group and his fellow partners in the group reflect unique assets that will help in completing the heist
