Stereotypes In Favor Of School Uniforms

Thousands of kids are bullied everyday. Thousands of kid are bullied over clothing everyday. The idea of bullying over clothing is an an irrelevant and unnecessary act. No student should feel that they do not fit in because of their clothing. However, there is a solution to this act- uniforms. Some may say uniforms are dull, uncomfortable, and have a lack of creativity, but uniforms should be worn in school because they will keep an educational environment, allow students to feel comfortable, and create a professional image for the school.
First, uniforms should be established in schools to establish a learning classroom environment. Some people say that uniforms affect the classroom learning environment, but actually, uniforms increase the learning atmosphere. To start, students who wear khakis, plaid skirts, navy blazers, navy or white collared shirts are less likely to be distracted by colorful shirts, shorts, or pants. The …show more content…
A professional image for any school is important. In particular, the image of the students usually grabs the attention of the adults that are viewing the school. For example, students that dress professionally in uniforms tend to portray a confident, intelligent student. Uniforms appear to parents as studious, professional, confident image. Not only will uniforms portray a professional image, but it will teach students how to dress for future job interviews; looking professional is one step closer to obtaining a professional career. Another form of a professional image is having a full classroom of students in uniforms. A research was conducted that showed middle and high school students have reduced absences on average by half a day each school year without uniforms.
