The sirens just went off because people have started riots across the America. I received information that you were creating another cartoon for Cartoon Network and I just wanted to give you some advice on how making another successful cartoon without reinforcing stereotypes. Your cartoon Ed, Edd, n Eddy was a great success and had a major influence on children at the ages of 6 -10, but I want to warn you about the stereotypes that misled young and impressionable boys and girls. All of your characters portray gender and/or racial stereotypes which can cause a commotion with some of the child's parents. Remember that people who are offended by gender or racial stereotyping, act upon their insecurities by exaggerating the stereotyped behavior. …show more content…
My brothers and I have learned a lot from your show but, there times when we became confused from what right to wrong.Your main characters today remind me of businessmen who stretch the truth about their product that may or may not works. Especially “Eddy” who was the mastermind of all the scams they made. Is it right to scam other for money? The answer to that is obviously no but, the ideas they have wasn’t always successful. The only problem was that it can make some kids question the morality of making a scam to get what they want. I recommend adding a moral at the end of your show so that the children can understand when to or when not to make an …show more content…
The idea of a child that’s teased or bullying can cause some issues. No kid should have to tell their parents that they want to avoid the other kids. Do you remember the episode when the Eds first met and how they created a relationship when nobody wanted to be their friend? That portrayed how it's not easy to for kids to meet other kids when there are at a young age. The Eds became friends because they have something in common and they learn how to use each other talented to make a day exciting. The point I'm trying to make is that I learn as a kid is that I shouldn't believe what cartoons portray on kids from your

Stereotypes of gender and sexuality can be strictly seen in American television shows such as: The Family guy, The Simpsons, The Rescue Heroes and many more. Even though all the shows guarantees for entertainment and keeps our thoughts from our day to day stressful activities for a moment; nonetheless, it also occupies our bran and shatters our thinking hat which we then fail to see the extreme gender and sexual stereotypes depicted throughout the series. The show I have chosen to focus and pin points the stereotypic act is from “The Rescue Heroes and The Family guy.” The first series is about a group of males who travels around the nations rescuing lives from both natural and man-made artificial disasters.…

Most animated characters that are directed toward children tend to be very simple in design, they often offer colorful images that will easily grab the attention of the young adolescents that are watching the program. Cartoons are very influential to children because often characters are not identifiable as any race so it is easy for multiple kids to relate to them. However, some cartoon characters do have a race and it is sad to say that the entirety of their character is described by the race or ethnicity that they are representing. Due to the limited amount of cartoon characters with identifiable race, the characters that do have race are heavily influential to the children who are watching the program, and can easily influence the views…

Today, marginalized groups are painfully aware of the outsider status they’ve been assigned by the majority. Pop culture consistently represents the “Typical American” as being white, middle or upper class, Christian, heterosexual, usually male, and able-bodied. Our American government reflects these same qualities as well; in “115th Congress Sets New High for Racial, Ethnic Diversity,” The Pew Research Center wrote that in the most diverse Congress yet, only “one of five” of the members are of an ethnic minority (Bialik et al.). Though perhaps not deliberate, the domination of characteristics such as these represent a larger issue in our society, one of prejudice.…
