Getting to hear the speakers on the young manager panel was extremely beneficial. It was an incredible opportunity to get exposure to how it is to actually work as a young manager in the club industry. While there were a variety of things that stood out to me as I listened, one of the most prominent was the family environment that comes along with being part of a club, whether that be as a member, an employee or a manager. All the clubs strive to make their staff and members feel special and always welcome. I loved seeing how friendly the managers at Ballantyne Country Club were and how they really broke the stereotype we have been debunking in class of clubs being only aristocratic individuals, having a “superior than thou” mindset.
