I was pretty aware of the importance of color of products and toys for kids. I did think it is funny that dolls are known to be for girls, to dress up or play with it. While I do believe that action figures that boys often play with, is literally the same has a doll, just under another name. I do believe that there were a lot of gender messages to both boys and girls. As I said before the importance of color of the toys for girls and boys do portray assumptions with certain colors that targeted to different genders is a totally stereotype. Another noticeable factor that really distinguishes girl’s and boy’s toys and products is the scent. Toys and products that was targeted to girls actually had a strong scent of new plastic but the scent has almost a sweeter smell kind of like vanilla or almost like sugar cookies. Because of that it almost makes me a little concerned for young children, going a toy store at a young age. As I said before the big factors are color and scent of the products that are targeted to boys and girls. I think it would make a difference in our society if they actually made toys and products that are more gender neutral, which I think would a positive change.
