As humans our views and decisions are heavily affected by the views and opinions of other individuals and this can happen online or in person. Our identity is shaped by outside forces that the person is unable to control. Although each person has their own individual personality, ideas and thoughts, we are shaped by the society and culture which surrounds us every day. So we ask ourselves, can a person really create their own identity? Famous people also affect it because people want to be like them so they change themselves to be like that person. Social media has changed the world and the way we message talk and communicate, in 2005 8.7% of kids were depressed from social media and cyber bullying in 2014 it increased to 11.3% this is a huge increase and that is not good. Anyone with a smartphone and a wi-fi connection can get Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook Twitter, and many more. So kids on the internet might see a photo of a famous person and then they want to be like them and change their body to be like that person. That’s how society can change your identity. These sites is where the trouble happens. This produces fans from the platforms. What these fans don’t seem to realize is that celebrities aren’t robots that live to please you 24/7. They are living, breathing human beings with families, jobs and the need to pay their bills just like any other human. They are no different to an ordinary person, but young teenagers don’t see this and they think there the best thing in the world and change themselves to be like them. Some teenagers even starve themselves so that they are skinny ''Like the models and the singers and the actors that are so beautiful and skinny'' After some girls eat they might even vomit there food up so they don’t gain weight.
