For a long time now people have been trying to find a way to stop prejudice. Well the truth is that we can’t stop it. Prejudice is always going to be around because of people's opinion. Stereotypes is the main reason why there is prejudice. Stereotypes labels peoples because of what they look like, for the color of their skin. Racism has a huge role in this too. Peoples throw around racist jokes and don’t even know it that it is offensive to some people, it is where the society learns it from. “Racism is taught in our society, it is not automatic. It is learned behavior toward a person with dissimilar physical characteristic.” that is a quote by Alex Haley. This quote I very much agree with, racism is not born with us it is taught from our society. We might not be able to put …show more content…
A way to start is knowing your roots and share your pride in your heritage with the others such as younger people. This would help by setting a positive view for the kids, and the kids will grow up and do the same thing for future generations too. Another thing you can do is to educate yourself about the different of culture could also help, it give you the point of view of the different types of cultures out there. These things help because it help you understand their background. Stereotype and racism has a lot to do with prejudice, it does because for example when you look at me you probably think that I am not very athletic, have small eyes so i can’t see, and get good grades, well I play multiple sports and my eyes are a unique quality that I like about myself. Do you see what I am talking about? The stereotype of someone culture is not telling you the full story. Don’t prejudice people because everyone is unique and one of a kind.I may think that we may not be able to put this to an end but we should embrace that we are all
