Through the years, we have had a surplus of white male in the office, until 2008 when Mr. Barack Obama was elected. There were many citizens who were upset yet there were some that were excited because the chain was finally broken. Mr. Obama was blasted for being an African American. Recently, in our latest election, we had unique candidates, a female, a Jewish and a man of power. I believe both genders should be treated equally, despite the stereotypes. One's gender should not be a big part of an one's identity. I believe talents and skills should be a major part of someone's identity. Not by their gender nor by the color of their color of skin. I believe all social identities are important. If an individual is known to be a student, they are viewed differently than someone who is not in school. Women today, according to J.C. Hewitt from the huffingtonpost, are favored in the family, for example if a woman were to marry a man with great values and then divorce him, the female will receive more than half of the husbands' assets. If a women were to graduate a major typically known by men, she would be seen with a heavy affirmative action. Male population has always have a greater advantage of mostly everything. They are known to be working in high positions as CEOs, very few women have reached this position. Gender inequality is all around, we may have experienced it but may have not
