Stereotypes: A Case Study

Stereotype can happen to many different types of group that we have a rigid belief that result may or may not lead in discrimination.This can also result as negative or positive into our conscious level. After the stereotype is made having a prejudgment towards the targeting group is based on our attitudes. Nevertheless, discrimination is formed by our attitude that we start to apply toward the person in the targeting group. This is known as the ABC’s of Group Perception because of the affect/evaluation, behavior towards individuals and the cognitive thinking. Moreover, stereotypes seem to be the way how people can prejudge others by grouping them into categories in the fact of inaccuracy or accurate behavior that is shown. For example, Marcus who is black and Joe, who is white walk into an electronics store, therefore, one is being followed and the white friend being ignored. The stereotype …show more content…
The behavior of the employee was displayed directly towards Marcus to be followed around, in contrast, of Joe who they are both shopping for the same cause. As well, how unjustified minorities face to feel fear of, excluded from their group they experience unequal treatment of the situation of racism. The separation of Marcus is a product of prejudice because it something that we know how to do. Overall, it will not increase contact would realistically decrease the employee’s’ prejudice towards Blacks because it's more of an ingroup bias that they attend to be more comfortable in their group over the outgroup members. As,the ingroups try to look for acceptance it is the only way for them to cooperate of their own preference. It's more as psychological, that over time it can change the way how people are put into categories for the reason that people are more internal than external causes of complex
