Stereotypes Of Athletes Essay

Today there is an immense stereotype that many people have against athletes. A big number of the population of the world believes that all athletes are rude, selfish, and self-centered. This belief started a long time ago when athletes began to show their passion more outward to the public. Now, many athletes are not thoughtful about their actions in front of everyone and deserve to be put in the bad category of what people think about them; however, this is not the case for some athletes. Some of them are very kind, caring, and altruistic. They like to show their appreciation for the ability to play the game by doing community service, doing well in school, and doing the little things to help out their school and their community. These athletes are seldom found and cannot stand the fact that they are put under the bad stereotype of athletes. Many people put athletes under the stereotype of being rude. This is the case for most athletes because they are uncaring about the opinion of the people that are around them. Some of the things that athletes do are turning up their music loud, acting like a child in public, using foul language, dressing inappropriately, and much more.
