Steremy's Short Story: The Haunted House

Improved Essays
As we drove down the long, twisty, abandoned road, I started to get creeped out. There were tons of houses, yet none were occupied. As we reached the house I could've sworn I heard a faint scream. Isabella, Jeremy, and I all looked at each other fear etched into our faces. My mom wished us all good luck, and drove off.

I reached my hand out to knock on the door and it opened automatically. I was surprised to see no one standing at the door.

"Hello?" we all say in usion, no response. I see something out of the corner of my eye, and realize it's a note. It says,

"Sorry I couldn't be here as you guys arrived, just walk to the kitchen and make yourself at home. The kids should be in the kitchen. It is one of the first rooms so you shouldn't

I was able to easily get back on my feet. Katie took the lead into the kitchen now. She screamed in terror as she entered the kitchen. Instead of two kids in the kitchen there's multiple pictures of Katie some even including her family. What is going on here, I think to myself. I turn around and make my way to the front door, my friends are cautiously following behind me.

I twist the handle, nothing happens. The front door is locked! What is happening? I head back to the kitchen to examine the pictures. In one of the frames there is a black picture with writing on it.

Isabella seems to notice it too, so she confidently walks over to it. As she is striding over to it I see a wire pop out of nowhere. I try to say something, but it's to late. Next thing I know her face is on the ground and the wire is wrapped around her foot, pulling her towards the

I roll my eyes but follow anyway. Isabella was behind all of us considering she had just been pulled by a wire. Jeremy walked into a room that the directions lead to. When he saw what was in the room he turned to Isabella with an uneasy look on his face.

"Isabella...come here." Jeremy says.

Isabella strides over to where Jeremy is standing, and Katie and I follow behind. Isabella freezes in her tracks when she sees what is in the room. There are multiple pictures of Isabella. There are also pictures of her favorite color, song, house, and both of her bedrooms. I am terrified by how this person knows all of this information about us.

"How does whoever this person is know all of these things about us!?"

"Wheres Katie?" Isabella,Jeremy, and I all say at the same time.

Five seconds later there was a loud thump. I ran out to the hallway to see what was wrong. I automatically screamed at the sight I saw , then started to cry. Katie was on the ground blood gushing out of her.

Isabella and Jeremy sprinted out of the room that they were previously in. Katie's pulse has stopped completley. She isn't breathing any longer. Katie is dead. By this point we are all crying. I pull out my phone to call 911. My phone wouldn't turn on at all and I knew for a fact that I charged my phone before we
