Stephen King Accomplishments

Stephen King might be one of the most well known writers of this time. His work gains both criticism and praise, and is often credited for reviving the horror genre (Britannica). King has published a plethora well known works such as Carrie and The Shining, along with some lesser known short stories. His work in the horror genre is known for being quite dark, but what made him have the capability to write stories so intense? When one looks into Stephen King’s life, however, they would find that King’s life has been almost as tragic as some of his own stories. Stephen King was born on September 21, 1947 in Portland, Maine. He was an only child, and his father left him and his mother while King was still little (" Stephen King”). King and his mother then moved to Connecticut, however they moved back to Maine when he was eleven (Britannica).
