Prime minister Stephen Joseph Harper was born on April 30th, 1959 in Toronto, Canada. The oldest of three brothers, he has always been a leader and very close to his family. As he got older, he showed some mild interest in politics, joining his high schools young liberals club. After graduating high school at the top of his class, he decided that he would rather try his luck in the workforce and moved to Alberta. While out west, he discovered his love of politics and obtained a masters degree in economics, eventually taking a position under PC MP Jim Hawkes. After working under Hawkes for a few years, Harper was elected as an MP in 1993 and in 2006, was elected prime minister of Canada as a Conservative. Over the years as a politician he has
