How can some of these professional basketball players in the National Basketball Association ( NBA ) or Women’s National Basketball Association ( WNBA ) influence people in their daily lives? People may say basketball is easy because all you’re doing is throwing a ball in a basket and if it go in, it counts there you get the point. No basketball does NOT work like that, you can’t just make the ball then there you go already on a professional team. It also take time like everything else or the things you love to do. Jordan favorite sport as a child was baseball not basketball until he followed behind his older brother and decided to try something new. In high school Jordan wasn’t able to play because of his height but that didn’t stop him from doing what he like best all he could do is keep striving for what he like. When Jordan played he played for the Chicago Bulls who was selected their third overall pick in the NBA. He wasn’t a type to just lay there and wait for the team to practice but usually he would get up five in the morning just to keep on working because there was never a time where you don’t need to improve on anything, there will always be something that you need to work on either you know it or not. After even practicing on his own he will still got and practice with the team. With Jordan practicing like this then this is the only reason why he scores at least twenty-eight points a game or even higher to at least forty plus. How did he get like this? And Why? Jordan got like this because of not giving up, he pushed himself harder and harder every day and time he got, and he only did it because he knew that he’ll be something in life and people will have to remember him. “ I 've always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come.” - Michael Jordan. As people may know Maya Moore playing for the Minnesota Lynx her and her team was in the WNBA finals. She was the first person in all sports meaning NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB and others to win three WNBA titles, MVP award, and rookie of the year award in her first five season. Not a male but a female to where most people say that they are the worst at sports or they can’t do anything. Or maybe not even have a clue about sports. As a child Maya was only raised by her mother. She started to play basketball at the age of three. From there she knew that she was going to be in the WNBA when she gets older. In high school she took her team to the Georgia state championship and was named 2007 Naismith Prep Player of the Year. Maya may have grew up around some spoiled kids where they didn’t have to listen to the coaches as much or they can just do anything they want. But she was the one opposite kid where she did everything the coach would ask. People may have considered her to be the teacher 's pet but that didn’t bother her. She kept working because it was the only thing she loved doing. Maya thank her mother so much for being the only person there for her.
