Stephen Curry Vs Jordan

Decent Essays
Stephen Curry is currently one of the biggest topics when it comes to basketball in the NBA. steph might be one of the best shooters of all time. But most people are forgetting about the greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan. Although Curry excels in shooting three pointers, Jordan is the better overall basketball player.

Many people might argue that Steph is a better 3pt shooter than Jordan, in some cases this is very true. However, Jordan averaged more points per game than Curry. Curry is currently averaging 22.7 points per game he plays. In Michael Jordan’s prime he averaged about 30.1 points per game during the regular season. This shows that Jordan doesn’t need multiple three pointers to have good average points per game.

Lebron's field goal percentage is 45.9 and Jordan's is 45.7 so although it's very close that is another difference between Lebron and Michael Jordan.…

Scottie pippen a former teammate of Michael Jordan said, “I may go as far to say LeBron James may be the greatest player to ever play the game. Because he's so potent offensively that not only can he score at will, but he keeps everybody involved" (Joe Posnanski). Although Stephen Curry has clearly proven to be great, Russell is still far superior in his athleticism, finishing, and defense. In my perspective, I consider Westbrook to be the best point guard in the NBA. What really makes this fearless point guard stand out the most is his monstrous athleticism. He only stands at a staggering 6’3, yet he is capable of jumping over 37.5 inches in the air. This allows him to use his quickness and hops to maneuver around his defenders to get anywhere on the court.…

Kobe Bryant is 6’6 and 213 pounds, he has played the shooting guard position for the Los Angeles Lakers for his entire career, although at the beginning of his career when he was a freshmen and sophomore in the NBA the coaches of the Lakers didn’t know what position to put him at. His phenomenal ball handling skills and insane court vision could’ve very easily put him at the point guard position, but on the other spectrum his immense size and speed as well as extreme jumping ability could’ve very easily just as well put him at the small forward position. The Lakers made the perfect decision of putting Kobe right in the middle of both of those positions, putting him at the shooting guard position. Michael Jordan is 6’6 and 216 pounds only putting him three pounds heavier than Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan just like Kobe has been both adjusted between the point guard and the small forward position until he was settled at the shooting guard position because of his uncanny ability to put the ball inside of the basket. Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan have both been compared not only because of their grace in the game of basketball but also their grace in mid-air, because they are both very well known for their ability…

James and Jordan have played the same number of seasons, and around the same number of games played. Lebron’s PPG (Points per Game) is 27.2 and Jordan’s is 30.1. The only thing is towards the end of Jordan’s career his stats dipped off drastically. Before coming back out of retirement he averaged 31.5 PPG with the Bulls; but when he came back to the Wizards he only averaged 21.2 PPG. Not only did he drop off in points, but also in rebounds and assists you could see a decrease in his averages every year in these categories.…

During an interview comparing LeBron James and Michael Jordan in May of 2011 conducted by the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network, more commonly known as ESPN, Horace Grant, who was a former teammate of Jordan on the Chicago Bulls, said that “LeBron is going to be one of the top players to ever play the game. But Michael Jeffrey Jordan, who we bumped heads with at times, is I think, the best who ever played the game” Horace Grant went on to say, “Believe me, he made myself, Scottie, B.J. [Armstrong], even Bill Cartwright who I…
