As the government elections roll around, we as citizens of the United States need to ponder and determine what we want from a public official. What has the candidate promised if elected to office? What political party do they belong to? Will the candidate be able to fill the requirements and expectations put on them? Many questions go through our minds. But, there are a few questions that are usually put aside when analyzing a candidate. “Are they a person of good morals, values, and character?” “Can this person be trusted, and will the candidate do their part to help the commonwealth?” “Is this person considered to be an example that others can follow?” Now many people may say that these aspects have very little to do with how they perform in office. I strongly believe the opposite. These questions need to be asked and they must be a heavy determinant in our vote. The public, especially the young people of our nation, need someone that is willing to help protect their rights. They also need someone that will be an example to them as they go through life with choices and make important decisions.
A public official has a very important job.
