There are countless three point shooters that have come and gone, but there is no other like Wardell Stephen Curry, better known as Steph Curry. Names like Ray Allen, Larry Bird, Klay Thompson, and Reggie Miller are or have been great three point shooters, but stats show that Steph Curry is undoubtedly the best three point shooter ever. There have been many three point specialists that have many accolades and could maybe contend with Curry, but that is extremely hard to do. Steph Curry can shoot threes, free throws, and just about anywhere on the court. He has in the gym range, which is a special ability to have. Not to mention he has a great handle along with him too. From examining Stephen Curry’s three point ability, midrange ability and free throw ability, it is clear that Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter to ever play the game of basketball. “Effective field goal percentage calculates the percentage of your shots, considering the the three point shot is worth more points than a normal shot” (Basketball Reference). Having a great effective field goal percentage is extremely beneficial. It means most shots taken will have a high chance of going in. If someone has a fifty percent effective field goal percentage, that means that he makes one out of every two shots he takes. Stephen Curry has a career forty seven percent field goal percentage. Considering the fact that Stephen Curry shoots a lot more than just layups, he is among the league’s top shooters. The NBA leader all time with field goal percentage is DeAndre Jordan, who only shoots layups and dunks. DeAndre Jordan has a percentage of sixty seven percent for his career (NBA). If Jordan would shoot more shots, other than bunnies, he would most likely be around the same percentage of Steph Curry.
