Steph was born on March 14, 1988, in Akron, Ohio, but mainly grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. In Steph’s early years he learned the fundamentals of basketball by watching and practicing with his father, Dell. On top of that Dell would take Stephen's college team on road trips. However, it wasn’t just Dell who helped Steph become a brilliant basketball player. Steph's mom, Sonya was the one who taught him the discipline to train. Steph was lightly recruited by major college basketball programs many times. At Charlotte Christian School, Steph was definitely the best basketball player by ages. Steph enrolled at Davidson College. He immediately showed his skills by scoring 32 points in his second game. Steph ended up earning the Southern Conference freshman of the year honors. Steph also became a national star in his sophomore year, when he carried the Wildcats to the regional finals of the NCAA tournament with a series of high-scoring performances. Steph's dad, Dell Curry is a former Hornet NBA player who played from 1986-2002. Dell scored 9,839 points in the Hornets. Stephens mom, Sonya Curry was a volleyball and basketball star at Virginia Tech. Sonya won championships in both sports during her years at Radford High. Stephen Currys younger brother Seth Adham Curry also plays as a point guard in the NBA but for the Dallas Mavericks. Seth went to Duke University from 2009 to 2013. Steph's younger sister Sydel Alicia Curry is a former indoor volleyball player for Elon University. Sydel retired because of a knee injury. Sydel did 2,381 assists in her two years of playing volleyball. Steph is now married to Ayesha. Ayesha is a chef, author, businesswomen, actress, model and a television personality. Steph has two kids called Riley and Ryan. They are both girls. Riley is 5 years old and Ryan is 2 years
