To put it simply it was the improper treatment the women had muscular degeneration of the eye. The problem was they were seeking regenerative which in nonprofessional terms means some kind of medical miracle that simple does not exist yet. As a result, this increased risk factor for those who participated in the trial because the promise of a medical miracle made them more susceptible it be conned.
