Stem Cell Research Persuasive Essay

The process of obtaining embryonic stem cells is one that is quite problematic. It is not as easy as mining in a mine or collecting water from a lake. It takes a delicate process to extract these important cells. Embryonic stem cells come from human embryos. These embryos have an abundance of stem cells that can be used to help cure diseases and illnesses. One drawback though from taking these cells though is the life of potential human. When scientists take embryonic stem cells from embryos, a baby can no longer form. Stem cell research has been around for a while and has made leaps and bounds in the medical field. Scientists today are studying how to produce these stem cells, and how to use them in medical practice. While the research for stem cells has proven to be very valuable and could possibly save many lives, today's society looks down on this practice and viewed it as unethical. Times are changing and people are too, but people today cannot keep up with today’s technological advances and research. This often leads to a sense of uncertainty and misconception due to the lack of knowledge on the subject. People view the topic of stem cells as being unethical because most people do not support taking stem cells from embryos.
