There are 100 billion stars in our galaxy alone. Space is never ending filled with countless amounts of galaxies that we cannot even begin to understand. There are so many stars and so many lives. They have different sizes and shapes and they can turn into different things after they die based on their size and shape. The exact definition of a star is a fixed luminous point in the night sky that is a large, remote incandescent body like the sun, however, stars are much more than that. Stars are related to physics, and there are many branches of physics. However, the branch that is related to stars is the astronomy branch. A Nebula is a cloud of hydrogen in space. This is the beginning of the life cycle of stars. Stellar Nebulae are what create the stars, but there are other types. One type is a Emission Nebula, an example of this would be the Orion Nebula, this type glows brightly because the gas in it absorbs energy from the stars that have already formed within it. Another type of Nebulae is a Reflection Nebula. Starlight will reflect on the grains of dust in the nebula, giving it the name Reflection Nebula. Another type is a Dark Nebula. These are very dense clouds of molecular hydrogen, so dense that it absorbs the light from the stars behind it. Finally, there is the Planetary Nebula, this is where the outer layers of star that are lost when the star changes from a red giant to a white …show more content…
“A Red Giant Star is a dying star in the last stage of stellar evolution”(Reed). Only smaller stars will turn into a Red Giant. The Sun is a small star so it lives longer than the larger stars but in a few billion years our sun will turn into a Red Giant. This will make the star expand and engulf the inner planets, Astronomers think that the Earth might be engulfed as well. A Red Giant is formed when a star is out of hydrogen fuel at its center.
