Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, who today performs under the stage name “Lady Gaga”, was born on March 28, 1986 in Manhattan, New York City as the eldest child to Cynthia Louise and Joseph Germanotta. She was born of Italian heritage on her father’s side with some French ancestry from her mother. Musically gifted as a child, Stefani was able to teach herself how to play the piano by the age of four and was then trained in order to complete her knowledge of the piano, which led her to create her first song called “Dollar Bills”.
