In military uniform Gatsby was able to hide his social background that was why Daisy accepted him as upper class. Wearing the same uniform as other soldiers gave him status same as other soldiers. His name was Jay Gatsby”(81). This quote shows that Daisy and Gatsby were in love each other. Then Daisy married Tom Buchanan who was more rich and had better status than Gatsby. Daisy once again got in relationship with Gatsby when he became rich. She was not aware of how he got rich. When Gatsby first show Daisy his big mansion, she cried “That huge place over there?”(97). It seemed like Gatsby is excited to discover Gatsby’s wealth and when Gatsby asks her if she liked it she replies that she loved it. This proves Daisy’s love for wealth. When Gatsby shows Daisy his shirts she says “They’re such beautiful shirts, it makes me sad because I have never seen such- such beautiful shirts before”(99). This could be put on a way that Gatsby had become wealthier than Daisy. She was in love with his wealth but later on Tom Buchanan told her truth about Gatsby.
