We are free! We are oblivious. We are born free. We choose to be oblivious. We live a lifestyle of luxury and safety, trying to block out the horror and suffering that others are going through across the world. The World Trade Centre is hit by two commercial jets and almost 3000 civilians are killed. The US alongside the British invade Iraq with the intent of vengeance for the 3000 lives lost in the attack on the US. We fought as a free nation to topple the Iraqi dictatorship and enforce democracy. We fought for the people, to stop the bloodshed caused by the Islamic militants who caused all these deaths. We had the responsibility to stop this when all we did was kill even more civilians. 166,000 civilian lives were lost due to the warfare brought by the West on the people of Iraq. Collateral damage is acceptable. That's what we're led to believe by the lack of publicity about this problem but it is unacceptable how many innocent lives have been ended by our ‘freedom fighters’. Our free country also failed to see the power vacuum that we would create where groups like IS could rise up and create even more
