We study statistics to analyze data. We use statistics for all sorts of things such as make better decisions. Statistics is used in politics to show how many votes the candidates have in each state. Statistics is also used to warn people. I saw an ad in a magazine that said 53,800 people die each year from second hand smoke. This is statistic shows that people do die from second hand smoke and that people should be aware of if. An example of a population would be all teen smoker teen a sample of that would be all teen smokers in New York. An example of a statistic is 1 out of 10 teenage girls will become teen moms. Example of a parameter is that 10% of the students at Canton for the Fall 2016 semester are or were teen moms.
