Although my high school years are mostly defined through academic success, I would have to say my most meaningful achievements came through the North Carolina FFA. This national organization provides me with countless opportunities to showcase my leadership abilities in my school, community, and state. Obtaining the positions of Vice President and President of my high school FFA chapter has had an enormous impact on my life. These positions led to serving on nominating committees, planning community events, attending leadership conventions and conferences, and participating in a state-qualifying parliamentary procedure team. It was these experiences that gave me a passion for public speaking and Agribusiness.…
FFA has been a big impact in my life since 9th grade. I began in Dekaney and continued to be a part of it in Wunsche. FFA has meant a lot to me because of all the things it has taught me to be a better person. I currently am a FFA officer Historian and without this wonderful position I wouldn't be able to have the leadership and communication skills I have now. Being a part of this chapter has opened new doors for me and allowed me to talk to new people that has helped me for my future career.…
During my time at Cal Baptist, I hope to gain not only the knowledge I will need for my career, but lasting friendships and spiritual tools that will help me as I continue my life journey on my own. My expectation for college is that, although learning is important, I will have opportunities to build lasting friendships and strengthen my faith in God and confidence in myself as well as my academic abilities. I believe Cal Baptist has developed a close, supportive community which I can count on to help me fulfill my goals for my college experience. A clear goal of mine is to excel academically, and in a small college like Cal Baptist, where I may receive one-on-one help from professors, I hope to do just that.…
I see the world in a way completely different than those around me do. I want to be light in this dark world. I desire to attend a college that will encourage me to grow closer to God and will help me to find and follow His will. I believe we were created to glorify God with our lives, but I need all the help I can get to become a Christ-centered woman. I am looking for a college where I can grow spiritually and where I can learn, not just academics, but learn about God and life.…
The opportunities at UNC Wilmington are endless. I’ve been interested in attending the school for years and the reason comes down to many different of aspects. Upon visiting over the summer, I realized UNCW would be a great place to stay physically and studiously fit.…

I have applied to Laurier’s Business Administration Program (BBA) which I think is the perfect program that will help me achieve the goals I have set for myself. Throughout high school, I discovered that I was interested in business classes which allowed me to realize I wanted to go to university for business. I am still deciding what I want to specialize in and what industry of business I want to be a part of, but Laurier I know for certain is a part of my future plan. When researching different universities and coming across Laurier, I learned a lot about the program that attracted me to wanting to go to the school. Laurier allows business students to learn a little bit of each industry in business which allows you to be able to see what…
Beyond the college expectations of achieving a perfect grade point average and writing the most effective notes, I would also like to gain admission into Endicott’s masters program for family nurse practitioner. Academically I would like to be able to accomplish a master’s program so I can be the highest desired nurse. In addition, Endicott also offers the right classes. The class, care of childbearing families, as well as, care of children, is not an option to take at my current university. Endicott has classes I am interested in and pertain to my major.…

My mission statement earlier this semester is do mainly to do well in college as it was a big transition for me and to be happy . Goals such as allocating time and using money wisely, becoming more independent and responsible as I’m living and trying to get an A for most of the classes. I was able to accomplish to the first two goals by scheduling my time wisely and was able to save up as well as setting aside a slush fund. Linking my goals back to the mission statement, being able to do well in almost every classes getting an A would be easy. It will definitely make me feel very happy as well as giving me a sense of satisfaction and relief for the effort that I’ve put…
The mission statement of Villa Maria College states that transforming and empowering the students is the goal of the school. A mission this bold may not have the same effect on every single student that walks through the doors of the school however, it has had this effect on me for the short time that I have been a student here. Coming to Villa Maria College has had an overall positive effect on my life in more ways than one. The college has helped me grow as a person but not in a big extravagant way.…
University Mission and Vision Statements PWIs can benefit from revising their mission and vision statements to include more concrete language about diversity and inclusion. A study conducted by Wilson, Meyer and McNeal (2011) noted that 35% of the 80 schools studied did not have a diversity statement and did not mention diversity in their mission. Of the schools that did mention diversity, only 19% addressed racial or ethnic diversity. Wilson et al. (2011) concluded that institutions that include diversity statements in their mission send a message to underrepresented faculty, staff and students that they are supported.…
I was born in Saigon, Vietnam in 1970. When I was four years old, my mother and two younger sisters died during the Vietnam War. My older sister and I were then sent to be raised by my grandmother, a devoted Buddhist in her 70s, while my father continued his military service. In obedience to my grandmother, I engaged in Buddhist worship. I grew up not only in poverty but also in ignorance of Christianity.…
