I have been unemployed for two and a half years and before that I worked for almost 10 years for a retail company. I learned extensively in many areas of retail, marketing and customer service and truly enjoyed the people I worked with and for, but I must admit, I always felt far removed from my passion, perhaps even a sense of obligation, of actually contributing meaningfully to society.
Volunteering at JVS would allow me to gain valuable work experience while being of service to our community. I intend to follow a career path that eventually would allow me to work with immigrants and refugees and JVS is the ideal organization. And yes, I am extremely encouraged by and particularly appreciative of the JVS mission and core values. Those values are dearly meaningful to me. …show more content…
