Winston Churchill once said “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” Everyone goes through negative experiences in their lives and it is how they react to such failures that determines their character. Just like everyone else in the world, I have gone through my fair share of failures. One being that I was not accepted into my schools freshman mentoring program during my junior year. The freshman mentoring program consists of a group of upperclassman guiding incoming freshman as smoothly through their first year as possible. You can learn that failure builds character, creates opportunity, teaches you benefits, instills courage, teaches perseverance, spawns creativity, requires motivation, and most importantly it is acceptable. To many, failure means the opposite of all this. Many would take failure as negativity, a let down, and an unsuccessful occurance. With failure comes opportunity. Opportunity isn't there forever.…

But failures are not all bad; in fact, I believe that they bring more positive outcomes than negative. They are not permanent and they are not self-defining, failures do not identify my worth or abilities, but rather present opportunities for growth. They are simply obstacles, roadblocks, as well as stepping-stones, to success. Without the obstacles that I have faced and overcome in my life, I would not have experienced personal growth to the extent that I am glad to say I have accomplished. Some failures seem worth defining and diminishing to my personal…

Even though telling students my failure story was challenging for me, in the end, I inspired them to excel academically. My story encouraged them to begin their college experience with high grades and not follow my example of having a 2.8 or any G.P.A that is considered low in their respective majors. In my everyday life, I tell my stories to friends who are struggling with their education and offer them the support they need to improve. I believe that telling my story of resilience has had a positive impact on people’s lives as it inspires them not to give up since…

Failure is the product of the inability to achieve a certain goal, outcome, or satisfactory result. The feeling you get from failing is a gut wrenching pain that isn't easy to get rid of. It can disrupt a person’s life and make them second guess themselves and all they have went through. I have also had a profound taste of failure in my sports, work, and school life. But while failures can make life miserable for a moment they can change your outlook on life, help you recover from, and make you realize that if you apply yourself you have a greater chance at accomplishing your goals.…

During my junior year I experienced failure. I had taken 3 AP classes and I was in cheer at my high school, and trying to figure out a balance between the two was difficult for me because it seemed like cheer took up a lot of my time and in the past other two years it had, but I had managed to still do well in my honors and AP classes. My junior year was another story, I struggled a lot at the beginning of the school year, and most of first semester was spent with me having an F sometimes more than one, and that was a failure to me because I had my heart set on going to a four college or university and I knew that if i had an F i wouldnt qualify.…

Failure has always been a huge aspect in my life recurring in everything I indulge myself in; whether it be academically, athletically, or even Boy Scouts. I tend to have a knack for challenging myself till I am unable to complete the task given to me, whilst this could be good in some ways it also puts me in some not favorable situations. More recently I had the thought of completing a bike race , after receiving medical attention for a concussion and a broken collarbone. This was not necessarily the smartest decision on my part, especially since the race was longer than I have ever raced before and also a three day event.…

Even when I do everything possible to succeed, it is still possible to fail. Since this experience dealing with failure has become much easier even though I strive not to fail. This situation has helped me deal with many school failures, such as my end of the quarter test. Similar to my slump, my last quarter of Government was not showing the type of student I am, and there was one last shot to get the grade up. I know that failing that test didn't mean I wasn't smart, but instead, it wasn’t my day as luck wasn’t on my side.…

Failure is all around us, for most of us it is a daily occurrence even with little things like failing a quiz or missing a shot in your game.
