Improved Essays
I have had the opportunity to take two UCLA Extension courses and I have had this opportunity because my dad teaches for UCLA Extension. As a professor of UCLA Extension, he is able to take a UCLA Extension class for free each quarter and was able to transfer his free class to me. This opportunity has allowed me to take aerospace classes that have taught me skills that are applicable in industry. I took a systems engineering class and an orbital mechanics class. In the systems engineering class, I learned the role of the systems engineer is to plan out the logistics of the spacecraft and take into account all the specificities that come with building and designing a spacecraft based on its mission and what supplemental payloads would be needed

These positions led to serving on nominating committees, planning community events, attending leadership conventions and conferences, and participating in a state-qualifying parliamentary procedure team. I also learned many valuable life lessons and received an abundance of helpful advice at SouthWestern Michigan College. My first exposure to the field of Electrical Engineering came while serving in the U.S. Air Force. There, I learned basic concepts about circuits and systems, and had the opportunity to work with engineers.…
