Decent Essays
I have many hopes, aspirations and fears about attending high school. My hopes for highschool include making great progress in writing and forming lifelong friendships with students and teachers. However I fear that I will not be able to connect to anyone and might be overwhelmed by the amount of work I will have to do. The transition from middle school to high school is also a large change that needs to be prepared for. As of now, before high school, I aspire to hold a career in the technology field. I think that high school will challenge me and push me to my limits so that at the end of high school I will be smarter, stronger and more driven than I am currently. I wish to be strong in all areas of learning and to explore all of these areas

For most students, the transition from middle school to high school is the evolution from childhood to adulthood. In my case, my middle school graduation was a quick transition for another reason. The first few months of my freshman year had my parents rushing my grandfather in and out of the hospital because of his failing heart. By this point my grandfather had battled off colon cancer, 3 heart attacks, and 2 open heart surgeries. At age 74 he was not a candidate for a heart transplant but he was able to get a defibrillator.…

Transitioning from middle school to high school was difficult for me because I had to attend a different high school than all my friends. This new environment caused me to become an introvert, because I didn’t feel that I fit in with the other students. The most stressful part of high school was finding a group of people that I clicked with and dealing with the various personalities. However, s my social life decline I became increasingly involved in my academics, so that allowed me to focus on other things. Also, when I meet my best friend during the middle of 9th grade I felt way more comfortable, because I meet someone that understood me.…

Transitioning from a high school student from a small town, to a college campus where the students body is almost as large as my town population is quite terrifying. Im use to my 1,500 classmates, all of us attempting to squeeze down the same stairway, trying to find the time to do Art Club, student council, band (marching and concert), Mathletes, quizbowl, keeping up with homework, and working is a difficult process. It’s senior year now, and half of these activities will be long gone as I trudge along applying to college and keeping my GPA to my standards.. We don’t have mommy and daddy to help us through our problems, holding our hands through the dark. Our decisions we make from here on out are all on us.…

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said ‘do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail’. This represents the transition from high school to college in my opinion because as new college students we are all starting our new path. Throughout school our path was laid out for us, now it’s our turn to take control and go where we want to in life. I have since ‘found my true personality’ since starting college. In high school I was still figuring out who I was an accidentally got stuck as something I wasn’t.…

We were leaning towards moving in the summer. They always said they would move before I started high school or after, they did not want me to have to start in the middle of high school like one of my brothers. It was a bitter January 4 when I told them that I would not mind moving during the school year, in fact, it would work better.…
