I'm cadet Allessandro Vos and I'm here today to tell you my point of view of JROTC and how it became to be. Before I get to the point, I would like to say that JROTC is a great program and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in taking JROTC. This essay will show what I have learned in my years of JROTC by giving you information about JROTC from 1916 to today and tomorrow. Me and my fellow cadets have been working hard to follow the cadet creed and the seven Army values to show great leadership and motivation towards our fellow cadets and students at our school. Our cadet staff have been working hard to teach us about JROTC and wants us now to write our essay and see what we have learned.…
I had a great time volunteering for Trail Tenders at the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. There, I was given the role of preparing administrative work for the second annual Dutch Oven Cook-Off event they had going on. Trail Tenders is an educational group that I had the honor of assisting them in making a community-gathering event successful. Trail Tenders first started in 1987 as an organization originally called the Oregon Trail Preservation Trust.…

One of the greatest achievements in the out nation was the creation of the JROTC program. JROTC has been around for a hundred years and many things have changed. Some changes may be small while others are large. Although JROTC has been around for 100 years it has had a long past, a productive present, and a future that many can look forward to.…
In Junior ROTC, I learned many different ways to not only help myself but to also help others. I have seen that many young adults in this generation and country believe that it is “too hard” to go help others. Whether or not the service is small, picking up trash for example, or something large, something should be done and you should get involved. Getting involved with the community and the people around you because in the JROTC mission statement you are basically trying to help others and yourself become a better citizen.…
For JROTC, the commitment for success begins with oneself. To be better people, we must look at our weaknesses and turn them into our strengths. IN JROTC we find our weaknesses through a test called the Success Profiler. This test measures cadet’s self-esteem, decision making, time management, and so on. This test determines cadet’s weaknesses and strengths and allows them to build or develop them as a person.…
For my sixty hours of volunteer work I decided to volunteer at a Child Life Center which was in a poverty stricken area in Norfolk, Va. At the child life center my job as a volunteer was to assist the children with their homework, help the staff monitor the children on local field trips, as well as serve as a positive role model for the children. The experience I had at Park Place Child Life Center was one I will honestly never forget. Although I didn’t get any actual counseling experience, I was able to learn the ways that the non-profit organization received their funding, I was able to gain experience in working with the youth, and I was also able to make a positive impact on the lives of children who were considered “at-risk youth”. To go there every day and be able to see the change the children had in their behaviors and how much just some attention and affection from adults impacted their behaviors was honestly amazing.…
Another year in Jrotc and I learn about many new and important things. For examples like the mission of Jrotc, the Jrotc creed and preamble, Violence Prevention, Amendments and citizenship skills. The mission of the JROTC program is, “To motivate young people to become better citizens,”. Jrotc is a good program for young people who are trying to build leadership and character. Also, Jrotc is a student run organization.…
JROTC is a program where students can get motivated to become better citizens by being offered many opportunities and challenges for total development and improvement in ways that is not taught by many others. In this essay, the following will be discussed about the positive effects from the past, the present, and the future of JROTC. JROTC was created by Captain Alden Partridge, a former Superintendent of the United States Military Academy, in Norwich, Vermont in 1819. Captain Partridge believed that his students weren’t prepared to defend their country’s rights, so their education wasn’t complete.…
This J-term program would be an amazing learning experience for me to participate in. Having the opportunity to explore different careers in the fields of Psychology and Sociology it is a great step to being able to take a peek at the outside world. This program would not only help give me the experience that I need for my majors, but it helps give me a better understanding of other peoples circumstances. This class would help straight out information on the juvenile justice system, but also how policies come into the role. I am a senior at the University of Rhode Island, majoring both…
JROTC FINAL The skill map is an excellent way for a cadet to see where he/ she is struggling and even where they exceed personally. Every cadet has the ability to improve from previous scores to become better as a cadet and a person. At the beginning of the year I had an average self-esteem that I was quite comfortable with.…
I always feel great about volunteering. One of my favorite memories is when on of the moms used to always thank me for watching her little son Elijah. She was so kind to me, she did not have to be kind. She was going through a lot, and she took her time to be kind and have conversations with me. I have not seen her for a long time, but I remember her appreciation.…
The mission of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps is to motivate young people in high school to become better citizens and take an active role in the development and the perservement of their community. There have been many lessons that have taught us how take a more active role in our community and how to be better citizens three really stand out among them all these are the lessons that showed us how to live up to the mission of our program. The three were How to show respect to the flag of the United States, How to show respect during the national anthem, Showing respect to a fellow cadet or another citizen and a commanding officer. Although different all of these lessons have taught us how to be respectful citizens within our community and to live up to the mission we as cadets follow every day to be better citizens. Each lesson has its own way of showing us how to be better citizens within our communities.…
I have helped Utilities with translating when I have been on my lunch break or after hours. I try to assist other departments as soon as possible when they ask for items to be scanned. When I see someone in the lobby or at the cashier window and no one is around I asked if they are being helped. I always try to assist callers with phone numbers when they have called the Town instead of PBC or other organization.…
Service never really meant much to me until a couple of years ago. I remember the exact moment I knew that I had a duty to help homeless people in December of 2013. I was driving with my friends in down town Salt Lake on our way home from a Christmas party. It was about 2 in the morning and it was absolutely freezing outside. I was joking, singing, and having a great time with my other three friends in the car.…
