Sargent Johns, one of the JROTC instructors at TJ, took a small yet adventurous trip to Centennial Airport where he was invited to take a thrilling Airplane ride. Students attending Thomas Jefferson also have a great opportunity to The Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. Although my high school years are mostly defined through academic success, I would have to say my most meaningful achievements came through the North Carolina FFA. This national organization provides me with countless opportunities to showcase my leadership abilities in my school, community, and state. Obtaining the positions of Vice President and President of my high school FFA chapter has had an enormous impact on my life. These positions led to serving on nominating committees, planning community events, attending leadership conventions and conferences, and participating in a state-qualifying parliamentary procedure team. It was these experiences that gave me a passion for public speaking and Agribusiness.…

I decided to attend Florida A&M University (FAMU) for a variety of reasons, including the location of its campus, because I was offered a full scholarship, and of course, because of the pharmacy program. Moreover, I believe that I am the ideal candidate for being a part of FAMU’s pharmacy program. To begin, FAMU is located in Tallahassee, Florida, a city that I had wanted to attend college in since I was in elementary school. Tallahassee is a city of containing and surrounded by many events and opportunities, so no matter your preferred “scene,” you are likely to be able to find something you do. Another upside to FAMU’s location is that it also places me very close to my mother and the rest of my maternal family, who I had previously not gotten to see almost since elementary school.…
