The Public Volunteer Committee members are people who obtain the traits of responsibility, leadership, and maturity. Along with being a freshmen at Perrysburg High School, I am my class president, violinist in the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra, member of a leadership group called Students in Action, a football and basketball cheerleader for Perrysburg High School, honor roll student, and more. I display my responsibility, leadership, and maturity through the activities, groups, and councils I am involved in. I believe that I am qualified to be apart of the Parks and Recreation Activities Committee and I would make an exquisite addition.

Volunteering at Veterans Affairs Medical Center was one of the greatest experience I've ever had. Sitting down with the elderly and getting to know them, I noticed if more teens could actually sit down and take the time to talk to an elderly person they could gain an opulent amount of knowledge. Sitting down and getting to talk an innumerable amount of veterans as I could, I was intrigued by how each person had a story of their own going through WWII. Voluntarily, I was able to contribute to the organization by having open conversations with the veterans, providing beverages, and having a great time. It wasn't till the end of the program when my perception began to change about the organization I volunteered for, it's more than just about kids…

When an employer or college is looking at an applicant’s resume, volunteering experience is a beneficial item to add, especially if it is a related field. Some people are just love to help out the community by volunteering. Many different volunteer programs are appealing to different people, like helping take care of puppies at the animal shelter for animal lovers, caring for a child at a children’s hospital if they are affectionate towards children, or serving a meal at a food kitchen for a chef or someone who is inspired to help the needy. I am called to a different group to volunteer with: the elderly. Each organization helps the elderly in different ways, but my favorite cause is that of Meals on Wheels.…

I expect you agree that the health & wellbeing of all those employed and/or volunteering in the WPCS association is a Risk Factor that the president needs to be mindful of and to not allow any situation to continue where it is obvious, or the president judges that, due to a person being employed at or volunteering at WPCS, they may be putting their own health & wellbeing at risk. My attitude is that all those who volunteer & work at WPCS should be able to do so in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that certainly should not put anyone's health & wellbeing at risk. This is probably covered in one of the P&P's but to me it's common sense. A WPCS person who finds their association with WPCS stressful not only puts their own health & wellbeing at unnecessary risk but also potentially can adversely effect others associated with the association plus potentially adversely effect overall association moral.…

Over the course of the semester I have been volunteering with American Public Square. I have completed around eleven hours so far and have been helping at events hosted by the group. At events I have helped attendants find seats, passed out programs, collected questions from the audience, tracked demographics, and cleaned up once attendees have left. While my acts have seemed small to me, those putting on the programs have said these little things amount to a large burden off their shoulders. From American Public Squares website it is an "organization that is changing the tone and quality of public discourse by bringing non like-minded people together to create a forum for fact-based, civil conversation about national, regional and local issues."…

If only there would have been more people volunteering, then so much more people could have been helped. And if more people can be help, then the suffering on earth can be ease. The big problem is that everyone is so busy with their personal life that they forget about the importance of helping others. A positive aspect I saw was that those who were already volunteering were really dedicated and kind hearted. I believe they are making a big impact on every person they touched and made it a task to spread their kindness.…

Volunteering gives me the opportunity to interact with friends, with different experience and background. I do have an interest in helping people to become better learners by developing skills and knowledge. I decided to take this as a challenge without any concerns to plan meetings in advance and have participants to join in. Additionally, it requires a lot of brainstorming and planning to see how the event will function, in relation to participants’ feedback. I respond to participants and provide them a suggestion to determine which areas needs improvement.…
