As I walk through my Freshman year in Fayetteville, I can’t help but to want more than knowledge in Criminal Justice. I have been seeking to grow in my faith and know my Savior Jesus Christ. Starting out I found my fraternity’s bible study where I shared my knowledge of my faith with my brothers. They pursued me to attend a group one day of the week, this organization is called Student Mobilization, better known as Stumo. Stumo has shown me how crucial it is to have a relationship with the Lord during my college years. I recently attended a Liberty University Convocation that really spoke to me while attending College For a Weekend. While I sat in the Vines’ Center seats, I listened to Donald Miller talk about the four kinds of people in a story: the victim, the villain, the hero, and the guide. I personally feel that my trials through life were given to me so I could fulfill the role of a guide in my life and others. My perspective is not commonly found in society today and I have a strong desire in my heart to help. I believe that Liberty University can help me grow and develop leadership skills to become what God has intended me to be to glorify him while helping others in their own individual lives.…

I had and still have a hard working family, but as a kid, I would always see my parents struggling to put food on our table for my siblings and myself. As I reflect on my personal life I value life itself to the point I live each day not knowing what to expect the next day. Positivity is a major factor in all that I do to the point of trying to view all things in a positive way and leaving the negativity out the door. As a mother, partner, educator, and entrepreneur I strive to be mindful, spiritual, and conscious of all my actions. My life is a fourth generation person and I relate because I “want to live, love, learn, and leave it like a seed with balance and joy" (Covey, 73) the quality of my life is more important than planning it out.…
