“Why I Chose Southwest” As a homeschooled high school senior, I am unable to take Advanced Placement courses, which are college-level classes taken at a high school. Students earn college credits by taking an exam at the end of the year. To remedy this, I decided to register at Southwest Tennessee Community College for dual enrollment classes. I chose Southwest for a multitude of reasons: to complete my high school education, to provide challenging courses in preparation for college, and to grant me college credit. I opted to take Pre Calculus, English Composition, and Anatomy & Physiology this semester.…

Damien Memorial School, we are brought together by what makes us different. We learn from each others experiences, mistakes and even our success. We are literally like a “mix-plate”, so many different things in one, but it does not matter, because it all fits well together. The main reason why I think that HACC is the best choice for me is because of the cost. The rates per credit are around $250 and that is for in-state residents. The total cost for a commuter would be around $13,750 for a student who is full time, which means they are taking 12 credits per term (Stager). This price of $13,750 includes the price of books, supplies, food, and transportation and it is an average price for all HACC students (HACC.edu). I think that I could easily cut some of the cost by trying to buy my books online for a cheaper price or even eating at home to save a lot of money.…
