Statement Of Purpose: Moving To Blacksburg

Improved Essays
Since I have moved to Blacksburg, Virginia Tech has truly been the only university that my eyes and ears have been open to. There is also the fact that the Hokie Birds scattered all through Main Street, and the amount of people in my school sporting Tech gear, is difficult to ignore.

What attracted me to Virginia Tech first and foremost, was the sporting. The students around me always got excited for the games, and I personally enjoyed seeing Burnt orange and Chicago maroon all over Blacksburg. The way the students and the community came together during sports made me happy and I couldn’t help but feel pride in living in Blacksburg.

As application time drew near, I became excited at the thought of applying to Tech. Many friends of my family

TCU is great fit for me because it is a smaller university. I like how TCU has less than 9,000 undergraduates and has a 13 to 1 student to faculty ratio. This means students will get more individual attention. The city of Fort Worth seems to be a great college town and TCU has great school spirit, which both work well together to offer a great college experience. TCU is a great fit for me because it has an encouraging learning environment that will allow me to excel in my studies and grow as a…

    • Affordability and Scholarships: In recent years, ETSU enrollment rate keeps growing based on international recognition whereby more African, Asian and even American (undergraduate and graduate) students prefer to utilize the advantage of scholarships being awarded, coupled with affordable modes of payments like promise to pay and other means of payment. Students compare great programs being offered by ETSU and the little fee attached to it compared with other institution with the same programs with higher finance rate. • Campus (Beauty, Location, and Regional): ETSU being located in the north-eastern part of Tennessee attracts people from neighboring states for sightseeing. The medium built institution, is home for different attractions like the entire school environment, Sport teams playing in the conference and host of others. Core Strength of ETSU is Education, and other strength which I couldn’t discuss are students, academic programs, and faculty (ETSU, 2016)…

Although my high school years are mostly defined through academic success, I would have to say my most meaningful achievements came through the North Carolina FFA. This national organization provides me with countless opportunities to showcase my leadership abilities in my school, community, and state. Obtaining the positions of Vice President and President of my high school FFA chapter has had an enormous impact on my life. These positions led to serving on nominating committees, planning community events, attending leadership conventions and conferences, and participating in a state-qualifying parliamentary procedure team. It was these experiences that gave me a passion for public speaking and Agribusiness.…

I believe TCU is a great fit because I think it is the perfect school for me to develop into a productive adult. It is a prestigious school that honors discipline and hard-work which I believe are two characteristics I can work on. The level of education is also held at a high standard and I believe I can become a part of that. The campus also seems to be very friendly and welcoming and appears to be a school I can adjust to. I like the fact that it is a small campus which allows more individual…

A supportive and intellectual community, focused board of professors and teachers, and opportunities for growth and success are my pillars for a good university. It’s important for me to be able to work and collaborate with my peers - peers that will be present in my professional life beyond college. Thoughtful professors who are genuinely interested in my own success are also crucial factors in my decision. I believe that teachers who work with the students are of much greater value than those who merely relay information and expect high test scores. Georgia Tech has one of the best environments for student-teacher collaboration.…

One of the things that makes me want the most to attend to Swarthmore is the endless intellectual buffet that can be find within the classes but also outside of it such as in dorms, dinning rooms, etc. Swarthmore offers a rigorous academic environment which enables the growth of its students. Also, the pass-fail that is offered to its students in the first semester is priceless and unique; it enhances the possibilities for its students to explore the vast variety of majors that are offered without being frightened by the fear of failing! This one-of-a-kind program is one of the main reasons why Swarthmore is highly appealing and fits my personality. Also, it offers a breath taking arboretum which propels the desire of learning in its students.…

As a child of immigrant parents, whom never passed secondary education, I had been told several times by my mother, “I came here so you can have the opportunities I never had.” I never took her words in for consideration. Being callow was part of the predicament, and my early teenage mindset kept me in captivity. Unlike my mother, I’ve been oblivious to the fact that as a citizen, I’m capable of achieving anything. During my last two years of high school, I realized that she was utterly right.…
