Statement Of Purpose: Mossville Home

Decent Essays
Not to many young adults my age, those in my generation, can say they have lived in the same city/town for more than 5 years. Luckily I have had the opportunity to call Mossville home for the past 23 years of my life! Every childhood memory and memories up until today have never left the address I still call home today. Choosing this title to represent my last year at Miss Louisiana USA meant a lot to my family as some of you may know we are loosing our community feel but to a good reason. Louisiana is well known for refinarys and oil and gas industries and one of the major plants lye just a few minutes from my home. Thankfully with the help of SWLA, generations to come will still be able to see what this community had in the past. A community

Riverside Bayview Homes Inc. 474 U.S. 121 (1985) The developer Riverside Bayview Homes was filling its property, which was located next to Lake St. Clair, Michigan, with fill material. The Army Corps of Engineers filled a lawsuit against the developer to prevent this from happening, as the Corps felt that this area qualified as a wetland and the developer would then need to obtain a permit from the Corps as required under Clean Water Act § 404. The district court held that this area was considered a wetland under the Corps’ definition. This was then reversed in the Court of Appeals, which stated that the Corps’ must avoid taking without just compensation which violates the Fifth Amendment, thus giving the developer the right to fill their property without a permit.…

Breaux Bridge, Louisiana is a rather small town lying in the Heart of Cajun Country. Home to less than 9,000 people, we are the definition of little interstate town. Since I have moved to Blacksburg, Virginia Tech has truly been the only university that my eyes and ears have been open to. There is also the fact that the Hokie Birds scattered all through Main Street, and the amount of people in my school sporting Tech gear, is difficult to ignore. What attracted me to Virginia Tech first and foremost, was the sporting. The students around me always got excited for the games, and I personally enjoyed seeing Burnt orange and Chicago maroon all over Blacksburg. The way the students and the community came together during sports made me happy and I couldn’t help but feel pride in living in Blacksburg.…

They are a non-profit volunteer association that works together to build reasonably priced homes for people all over the world.…
