I recollect spurts of apparition amongst the characters, moving from one place to another in literally the blink of an eyelid. But what remained back in my head was the crux of the entire series where one can see the genie named ‘Jeannie’ living in a bottle with all her belongings and a room like structure all within that thin bottle. In another episode I remember her packing for a long trip in tiny suitcases the size of Hershey’s cone chocolates and putting them in her bag. The idea of minimizing all the needs of an individual into small sizes enough to fit in a purse is something that I was fascinated by. I have organized an event called the “Construction of the 8th wonder” in the college’s technical festival. We made 4 constructional bots- digging bot, fork lifting bot, clamping bot, and a crane. Using these bots 4 players had to collect different things and jointly to make a new structure. I have participated in Texas Instrument’s Innovation Challenge 2014-2015 and am awaiting results. I was in the organizing committee of the event “Glow Gully Cricket” in the college’s annual festival. I am an active member of the NSS unit of my college and have volunteered in every event organized by the NSS cell including blood donation drives, tree plantations, teaching students, 7 day camp to a remote village. All this gave me satisfaction and taught me how to work in a team efficiently as well as leadership

Before addressing why Pitt is a good choice for me, I would like to review why I am a good choice for Pitt. The University of Pittsburgh values their “talented, diverse and high achieving students”, their “safe and healthy campuses”, their unique balance of “fun and camaraderie with internships and other learning opportunities outside the classroom”, and their focus on “developing students into global citizens” (University of Pittsburgh webpage, ‘Prospective Students’). I am a well-rounded student who places priority upon academics, as well as a broad array of performing arts extracurricular activities, over 300 hours of community service, several job experiences and religious organizations. Therefore, if admitted to The University of Pittsburgh, I would fit right in with the ardent and accomplished student body, just as I would benefit as a person and as…

What do you consider to be your most meaningful contribution to Colleges Against Cancer during the 2015-16 year? I think I consider my participation in Relay for Life event as the most meaningful contribution that I have made to Colleges Against Cancer during the school year. I was not able to attend Tuesday meetings especially on winter quarter because of a job I had that needed me on Tuesday nights. However, this did not hinder me to constantly communicate to my other committee members. When time permitted this spring, I actively participated during Tuesday meetings, some of the flyering weeks, the production for Relay props, and the event itself.…

Leadership is imperative to supporting the foundation of succession in our society. It is important that we exercise our God given right to utilize our sphere of influence to the best of our abilities. Although leadership may gain you more recognition throughout society it is not about the affluence one can acquire; leading is solely about guiding others down a path of success so that future generations can more easily learn from our mistakes to pass down to the next generation. That is why I believe mentoring and any position of leadership should be central to young adults to set the example for the impactful youth. I found my sphere of influence to be within the academic driven chapter of the National Honor Society which in my senior year I was elected president.…

The values and standards of National Honor Society are the four important pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. A person needs to represent all four pillars to uphold the honor of National Honor Society, just like a table with four legs must balance a table. I have developed through the years to be a strong leader, holding the table of scholarship, leadership, service, and character and I would be so very honored to hold this leadership with National Honor Society. Scholarship is holding myself to a high standard, academically and socially. I display a strong sense of scholarship as I have maintained the Highest Honor Roll each grade of my High School career, Middle School and even Elementary School, I love to learn!…
