Although my high school years are mostly defined through academic success, I would have to say my most meaningful achievements came through the North Carolina FFA. This national organization provides me with countless opportunities to showcase my leadership abilities in my school, community, and state. Obtaining the positions of Vice President and President of my high school FFA chapter has had an enormous impact on my life. These positions led to serving on nominating committees, planning community events, attending leadership conventions and conferences, and participating in a state-qualifying parliamentary procedure team. It was these experiences that gave me a passion for public speaking and Agribusiness.…

Southern Methodist University’s mission statement expresses the values I admire and seek in a University such as, “promoting an environment emphasizing individual dignity and worth”. Being a student that struggled in school early on, I knew re-building my-self-worth would be crucial for success in college. Following my enrolment at Tarrant County College, I have joined the Cornerstone honors program offered at the campus and elected officer of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. These two organizations have served as complimentary forces that have enriched me with leadership, fellowship and intellectual skills I will contribute to my community. I chose to attend Wor-Wic Community College because of the support system that Wor-Wic has to offer. I applied to the school and attended it while I was injured with a traumatic knee injury and the staff really proved to me that they cared. I had surgery the first week of classes,so I emailed my teacher and they were all understanding and extremely helpful in accommodating to my needs. The late computer lab hours really helped me to be able to get my school work done after my night classes ended. Everywhere that I go I advocate for Wor-Wic because it is truly more than an institution, it is like another family to me.…
