Statement Of Purpose: Foster University

My philosophy in life can be summed up neatly within the precepts of the “Golden Rule”: ’do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.’ My entire life has had me focus on listening attentively and respecting other points of view. I pride myself on being a compassionate and humane person.

As a student, I successfully combined a major in Marketing at the Foster College of Business and a minor in Psychology at Bradley University. In Best Colleges 2016, U.S.News & World Report recognized Bradley as the top Illinois university of its type and number four overall among Midwest Regional Universities providing a full range of undergraduate and master’s programs. The Foster College of Business was also ranked as one of the best undergraduate

The first step in achieving my goals is to attend college. I have applied and been accepted to Susquehanna University. The Sigmund Weis School of Business at Susquehanna is ranked in the top 5% of all business programs worldwide, and they are one of less than a dozen residential liberal arts colleges to have earned AACSB accreditation. This university is well suited for my personal development and will help me attain a degree backed with excellence. During college, I will intern with businesses and learn how to market to varying groups.…

We as a society believe that the more educated an individual or a civilization, the more the nation and its people will prosper. I understand that the mission statement of the Department of Education is “to promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access”. What if I told you that there is no true equal access? Why is it that people like me, who come from a middle-class family, are annihilated by the financial aid system, therefore we have to pay every penny of my higher education? How is that equal?…

Hopefully I am a little taller than five foot ten inches and have more facial hair than now. I’ve heard people say that college has the ability to change individuals, some for the good, others for the bad. Furman University offers a variety of subjects and extracurricular activities that show true identity. I am planning on devoting much of my time to football, but, the academic experience is the most important thing to me. Internships, volunteering, athletics, relationships and academics are all things that I hope to conquer at my time at Furman, but the one I am most looking forward to is the relationships.…

I am interested in attending The Catholic University of America because it has a fantastic academic, proximity to internships and jobs, and a Catholic identity and community. Becoming a student of Catholic means that I am going to receive a first-class education from professors that genuinely care about their students. Moreover, having a low student-faculty ratio also fascinates me because it indicates that faculty members can spend more time working individually with students. This will allow professors to distinguish my capabilities and will also be a great feeling and even an advantage to me as they are the ones that can get me in connection with people when I branch off into my career. Thus, I have high hopes of having a phenomenal educational…

If I could combine astounding qualities of every college I know,I would create Swarthmore .With its small and cosy size,I would be a part of my intellectual family and with every article and fun fact I’ve read about Swarthmore, I became more and more interested in it. Having the one-on-one contact with the professors in my opinion is very important. I believe to grow intellectually, students need a leader to guide them through every step.…

Carnegie Mellon provides the perfect balance of academics, athletics, and culture that I am looking for in a university. From a young age, I was always fascinated with how machines worked. Instead of playing with toys, I would attempt to take them apart. In the fourth grade, we were given circuits to experiment with during our science lesson, which easily became my most enjoyable unit. Fast forward to eighth grade, I was introduced to a documentary in my science class which discussed innovative projects that will enhance the medical field’s technology.…

As children, the majority of us were taught some version of the golden rule, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” While commonly, this virtue is credited to biblical teachings that appear in Luke 6:31 and Matthew 7:12, it is actually a universal notion that emerges throughout multiple cultures, religions, and philosophical ideas. This rule, known collectively as the ethics of reciprocity, appears in Buddhism as “hurt not others with that which pains yourself,” in Judaism as, “though shalt love thy neighbor as thyself,” and in other variations throughout Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, Confucianism. It is important to note, however, that ethics of reciprocity are not only present in religious contexts. Great Philosophers such as John Locke, Voltaire, and Thomas Jefferson (in his words in the Declaration of Independence), were all also proponents of the golden rule.…

As I said before I’m on a journey to discover who I am and what my moral values are. It may take me the rest of my life or may come to me tomorrow but as I have written them on this paper I have discovered that I need to stop sitting around and thinking about it but to get out in the world and learn them. Life is tough but we must respect on another because we may figure out that we can be even stronger if we listen to one another. In conclusion my moral values are to treat others as they want to be treated as in the golden rule, do not judge others so quickly but get to know them and make judgement later as they may be who you do not think they are right of the start, and finally always know that there are a checks and balance system around, your actions will always have a re-action, they may be good and may be bad but they are a checks and balance system, just like yin and…

Philosophy is a theory or attitude held by a person or organization that acts as a guiding principle or behavior that acts as a guiding principle for behavior. I live by many philosophies; some examples are, your word is you 're bond, I am no better than any living thing always stay humble, and very few things are facts most things come down to perspective. My personal philosophy is “nothing ventured nothing gained” and this is my personal philosophy because if you don 't venture you won 't grow as a person, you get to will live life more since it allows you to experience new things and it cuts back regrets you might have for not doing said action. Nothing ventured nothing gained is very self explanatory, it means that if you do not go out and try different things, go new places, learn new concepts and ideas you will never be able to grow as a person.…
