Statement Of Purpose For UCF

Decent Essays
Some unique talents i have is i'm an extremely patient person, i have lot of experience dealing with terminally ill patients and special needs children. Spending time with the less fortunate gives you a strong sense of appreciation and hopefulness to life and new perspective. The academic program that UCF provides that appeals to me is the early childhood developments and education. Since i've been young i've always been drawn to children and helping people. I have a lot of hope for the change in our future and the following generation has the potential to straighten our country up. Since i was 8 i’ve volunteered at Disney's, “Give Kids the Word” and spend time with children who don't have very long to live, and we try to make them as happy

The sciences have been central to my life ever since I was a child. My mother is a veterinarian and my father a mechanical engineer. Both of my parents attended Tuskegee University and always pushed for me to consider HBCU’s for my education. STEM careers and education are promoted heavily in Huntsville, my hometown, as major tech companies and government entities such as NASA and Missile Defense are located there. I ventured out my senior year and took courses dealing with social sciences, both in my high school and at a nearby university.…

We as a society believe that the more educated an individual or a civilization, the more the nation and its people will prosper. I understand that the mission statement of the Department of Education is “to promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access”. What if I told you that there is no true equal access? Why is it that people like me, who come from a middle-class family, are annihilated by the financial aid system, therefore we have to pay every penny of my higher education? How is that equal?…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

Despite their large numbers in postsecondary institutions, Latinos are among the least likely racial and ethnic groups to complete their bachelor’s degrees. By the year 2019, enrollment of Latina/o students in post-secondary institutions in the United States is expected to increase by an astounding 45% (Moreno, & Banuelos, 2013). While the primary objective of attending university for many Latino families is perceived as simply receiving a college degree that will enable them to get greater earning power, there is also a degree to which the student must integrate to the university in order to successfully complete the process leading to graduation. Most university mission statements promise the student not only basic skills and training, but preparations that can be transferred to any society…
