I am writing to apply for the TRIO Upward Bound position. I am a product of TRIO programs as I was a member of Talent Search, Upward Bound, and Student Support Services. I also worked with the Upward Bound program as a staff member.

The Upward Bound program was created to provide services for students with unfavorable backgrounds. My experience as a high school teacher, mostly serving students from disadvantaged backgrounds, has provided me with the necessary skills to provide expert services to students as they prepare for college. More specifically, I am able to recognize student talent, help the student prepare for college, and understand the importance of postsecondary education.
