In 1887, American businessman Jonas Gilman Clark had the vision to create an educational institution that was to meet the needs of an ever-changing world. It was to not solely provide a world class education, but to provide a hub for research, innovation and forward thinking. Today, that vision has become reality and the university stands as one of the leading tertiary institutions in the United Sates and a paragon for change and progress in the world. This institution is Clark University.
Clark provides a truly global education and experience that is extensive, integrated and active. The world that we live in today is undergoing change. In addition to an increase in research of all kinds and constant innovation, the interaction of people from different borders and cultures have increased due to globalization. Growing up in the Caribbean caused me to see the world from a different perspective.

Being raised in a small community, the principles of volunteerism and service before self has been ingrained in me. The emphasis that the university places on ensuring that its students are well-rounded compares to none. Through it co-curricular offerings and opportunities of involvement in Worcester and abroad, Clark prepares its students to live a purposeful life. The opportunities for engagement that are provided will ultimately make me a global citizen who is an engaged and responsible agent for change in the world.
From its global engagement initiatives, to its incomparable LEEP program and opportunities for engagement, Clark University has what is needed to catalyze my growth into a substantial member of society. At Clark, I not only can achieve my goals and fulfill my passions, but blossom into the global leader and activist that I was meant to be. I am excited to become a Carlike and share in the pride of the multitude who call Clark home. I am Clark
