During my time at Cal Baptist, I hope to gain not only the knowledge I will need for my career, but lasting friendships and spiritual tools that will help me as I continue my life journey on my own. My expectation for college is that, although learning is important, I will have opportunities to build lasting friendships and strengthen my faith in God and confidence in myself as well as my academic abilities. I believe Cal Baptist has developed a close, supportive community which I can count on to help me fulfill my goals for my college experience.

Although my high school years are mostly defined through academic success, I would have to say my most meaningful achievements came through the North Carolina FFA. This national organization provides me with countless opportunities to showcase my leadership abilities in my school, community, and state. Obtaining the positions of Vice President and President of my high school FFA chapter has had an enormous impact on my life. These positions led to serving on nominating committees, planning community events, attending leadership conventions and conferences, and participating in a state-qualifying parliamentary procedure team. It was these experiences that gave me a passion for public speaking and Agribusiness.…

` I expect or hope from Kentucky Wesleyan to make lifelong friends, memories, and to receive a quality education to move on to either a masters or graduate program. Even though freshman orientation this past weekend made me feel like I went to church camp, I liked meeting the other freshman that entering this new stage of life as well. Just knowing that 100+ others out there struggling along with me makes college a little bit more bearable. Just within the past week I’ve become pretty close with the other incoming freshman softball girls, and slowly becoming more involved with the older girls. I’m hoping to make my softball career in college as successful as my high school career, but I know with that comes twice the work and determination as it did before.…

I am currently a PhD student at Fuller Theological Seminary, studying systematic (constructive) theology under the mentorship of Dr. Veli-Matti Kärkkäinen. Systematic theology is highly significant for the gospel-centered life of the Church, in the sense that the discipline explores how the core message of Jesus Christ according to Scripture can be concretely embodied in particular forms of confessions and practical spheres of Christians’ everyday lives. I have been pursuing this area as my major area of my theological studies for 5 years since I began my master’s degree at Emory University in Atlanta, GA in 2011. My focus of study in the domain of constructive theology is the study of theodicy, in which I explore various…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

I wholeheartedly believe that God calls people, like myself, to be excellent in their field while also being a testimony to those around them. I don’t want to just learn, but I want to become the person that God calls me to be and to have the desire to be an example of who Christ is to those around me. As I reflect on my personal life I value life itself to the point I live each day not knowing what to expect the next day. Positivity is a major factor in all that I do to the point of trying to view all things in a positive way and leaving the negativity out the door. As a mother, partner, educator, and entrepreneur I strive to be mindful, spiritual, and conscious of all my actions. I value these things because this is what makes up my life and what I live for each day. My life is a fourth generation person and I relate because I “want to live, love, learn, and leave it like a seed with balance and joy" (Covey, 73) the quality of my life is more important than planning it out.…
