What does it mean to have a future? Anyone can have a future, but is that future a proper one? To survive in this wild world that we live and thrive in, one must be successful. To be successful, one must first achieve skills and intelligence through proper schooling and gather degrees in fields of his/her choice. My particular choice is to go down the path of Nursing and to major in that field. To start off on my long journey down this path, I will first attend Nicholls State University to achieve my Bachelors degree of Science in Nursing. I will be taking only 15 credit hours each semester to ensure that I have enough time to complete my asignments and study, as well as have enough time to balance my job while I am attending the university. …show more content…
What great things in life do not require that? After completing my first step to success, which will be earning my Bachelors degree, I plan to go into the field and get a job as an operating room nurse. An operating room nurse (or a perioperative nurse) is a registered nurse who takes care of patients before, after, and during the surgery. There are three main catergories of operating room nursing. There are the Circulating Nurses, whom document and monitor the procedures that take place during the operation, as well as promote the sterility of the operating room. Second, there are the Scrub Nurses whom aid the Surgeons by handling the equipment during the operation and monitor the patient's condition. Last we have the Registered Nurse First Aid(RNFA) whom work directly with the surgeons by helping surgeons by controlling patient bleeding, using instruments and medical devices during the operation, performing invasive procedures such as cutting tissue, and they also suture the patient when the operation has finished. There are many other duties to an operating room nurse's job but I plan to be a Scrub Nurse or a RNFA. Being a RNFA will require extra
