State Of Union Reflection

Decent Essays
In the State of Union Address President Obama focused on many different topics. Such as helping students, the U.S economy and equal pay for equal work. These are some of many topics he spoked about. The one topic that stood out to me the most was helping students because I can relate to it the most. President Obama said that we should provide Pre-K for all. Pre-K that offers every student the hands-on computer science and math classes, in order to make the students job-ready on day one. I agree with him because I believe that if we want a better future we should educate the future. I also agree with his idea on making community college no cost for responsible students. This will be a great way to stop debt, focusing on are future. Obama talks

Response to “Remarks by the President in a National Address To America’s Schoolchildren” The article “Remarks by the President in a National Address To America’s Schoolchildren” recites Obama’s 2009 speech to young students in America. To begin, Obama states twice his purpose for talking to these students. In paragraph four, he says, “I’m here because I want to talk with you about your education and what is expected of all of you in this new school year” (¶ 4). Additionally, in paragraph six, he states, “...that’s what I want to focus on today: the responsibility each of you has for your education” (¶ 6).…

Free community college for the first two years around the whole country many would either like this idea or dislike it. This idea was brought by President Barack Obama but some students from Rio Hondo College are disagreeing with his idea. Some think this isn’t a very good idea because there are some people who can afford paying for it and those who get low income get help which is practically free for them already. The American Voice The American voice is something very unique to America; people who are born here or immigrated here, use their own language to describe what this country means to them. America has long been a land of freedom, opportunity and equality, from the time of “1492, when Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue.” In researching this topic, I read many multiple different articles and watched a variety of online videos to learn what others thought of what this country has to offer.
